I’d been wandering,
searching for words that weren’t clichés.
Somewhere between Hackneyed phrases
and London Bridge,
I realised I had lost.
But the trouble with clichés is that
everyone thinks
they know.
They’ll never even come close
to what I offer you.
By the time I got to Bankside,
I had recovered my situation.
I unscrewed the dome of St Paul’s,
turned it upside down,
held it in my hand
and filled it to overflowing;
